SLAF jets attack Tiger mortar position

Air Force fighter jets carried out an air raid targeting a LTTE
mortar position in Nachchikuda yesterday morning.
Air Force spokesman Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara said Air Force
fighters launched an attack targeting the LTTE mortar position in
support of advancing ground troops from the Army's 58-division.
"The target was located 2km North of Nachchikuda and the raid was
conducted at around 10.15 am," he added. The air attack was effectively
carried out by the Air Force fighters following ground intelligence
information and air surveillance, he said. |
