Food poisoning leaves one dead, hospitalises one

UVA PARANAGAMA: One person died and 45 others were admitted to hospital following food poisoning at a ceremony at a Kovil in the Welimada area where the participants had also organised an alms giving.

Police said 45 people who had fallen ill after taking food during the ceremony at a Kovil in Thunguwatte, Uva Paranagama were rushed to a nearby hospital where one person died after admission.
