Browns Cup racing on Sunday

The Garden City of Sri Lanka-Nuwara Eliya will witness the greatest events in the Horse Racing calendar on Sunday, with the start of the Browns Cup Horse Racing event which will be at the Nuwara Eliya Race course.

One of the most prestigious horse racing events organized by the Sri Lanka Turf Club and sponsored by one of the leading companies in Sri Lanka, the Browns Cup will be a key attraction for both local and foreign crowds at Nuwara Eliya for this holiday season.

There will be six horse races commencing 10.00 in the morning. The events to be worked out are, Browns Cup, Browns Tours Cup, Havells Cup, Exide Cup, Olympus Cup and Sharp Cup. These events will mark the participation of over 40 horses.

The horse racing events will be breathtaking. There will also be a dance floor, live music, fun activities for kids and fashion shows by attendees. ‘’Browns PLC are very happy to sponsor this prestigious event for the first time,’’ stated Suresh Tissaratchy, GM, Brand and Corporate affairs.

Rajah Sinnathuray, Secretary, Sri Lanka Turf Club appreciated the helping hand given by the Sports Minister Gamini Lokuge and the Municipal Council of Nuwara Eliya with organizing the event. The events to be worked out are, Thoroughbred horses Class I and II ( 7 Furlong - Handicap ), Class III,IV,V (5 Furlong – Handicap), Sri Lankan Horses ¾ bred and ½ bred ( 5 Furlong - Handicap)
