SSC in nine wicket victory

Opener Krishal Magage hammered a splendid 106 and Danushka Colombage captured five wickets for 26 runs to give the defending champions SSC a rousing nine wicket outright victory over Sebastianites SC in their SLC under 23 division one tournament match concluded at Maitland Place yesterday.

Sebastianites SC: 124 and 166 (A. Vithana 92, D. Colombage 5 for 26, A. de Silva 2 for 38).

SSC: 244 for 4 decl (K. Magage 106, J. Sriyapala 67, S. Karunanayake 38 n.o) and 47 for 1 (S. Karunanayake 28 n.o).

Sajeewa - a ten wicket haul

Right arm off spinner Sajeewa Weerasinghe took a match bag of ten wickets to help Colts CC cruise to an easy first innings victory over Panadura SC in their SLC under 23 division one tournament match concluded at the Panadura Esplanade yesterday.

Colts CC: 314 for 6 decl.

Panadura SC: 185 (R. Cooray 80, S. Weerasinghe 8 for 56, R. Niroshan 2 for 7) and 157 for 7 (D. Chandima 62, I. Perera 4 for 40, S. Weerasinghe 2 for 34).

Schools win on first innings

Sanjaya Fernando took a match bag of nine wickets but the Sri Lanka Schools under 20 team missed out an outright victory by just one wicket in their SLC under 23 division one tournament match against Sri Lanka Air Force SC concluded at Rifle Green yesterday.

Schools under 20: 332 for 8 decl.

Sri Lanka Air Force SC: 111 (P. Samarasekera 43, S. Pathirana 2 for 37, S. Fernando 5 for 16, U. Peiris 3 for 18) and 239 for 9 (T. Dilanka 30, A. Eranda 32, T. Perera 81 n.o, E. Dissanayake 30, U. Peiris 2 for 32, S. Fernando 4 for 67).

Spinners shine for NCC

Spinners Sashrika Pussegolla and Navin Kavikara claimed three wickets each to give NCC a close first innings win over Moors SC in their SLC under 23 division one tournament match concluded at Braybrooke Place yesterday.

NCC: 133 and 108 for 3 (S. Pussegolla 27, R. Mendis 29).

Moors SC: 113 (C. Peiris 28, N. Fernando 2 for 15, S. Pussegolla 3 for 11, N. Kavikara 3 for 15) C.D.
