Terror charges:
Two brothers in court
Two brothers arrested in a terrorism swoop in Mid Wales have appeared
in court.
Muralee Tharan, 46, of Beechwood Drive, Newtown, and Vithy Tharan,
39, of Crescent Gardens, Newtown, are accused of conspiring to support
the banned LTTE terrorist organisation in Sri Lanka.
They face a single charge of conspiring to receive equipment for
terrorist purposes between January 2003 and December 2006.
Their case was adjourned at Kingston Crown Court yesterday for a
hearing in October and they were bailed.
