South Asian People's Assembly

The South Asian People's Assembly 2008 (known as People's SAARC) will take place at the Vihara Maha Devi Park, Colombo from today to Sunday.

Over 400 participants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal and Pakistan and 500 participants from Sri Lanka will attend this three-day people's assembly to strengthen people's solidarity and friendship across South Asia.

The final day programme with a mass rally with the participation of 5,000 delegates from Sri Lanka across the SAARC countries will take place on Sunday at the Vihara Maha Devi Park.
