Zonal competition nearing its end tomorrow

The President's Gold Cup Volleyball championship organized and conducted by Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation and fully sponsored by Dialog Telekom which has attracted 984 men and women teams commenced last week end with the Zonal Stage.

Sixteen zones completed their matches last week and from these results already 64 men and women teams have qualified to play in the Provincial level which is scheduled for July 19-20 and 26-27. The balance nineteen zones will conduct their matches this week end which will complete the zonal section of the championship.

This week end will give the opportunity for 76 men and women teams make their way to the provincial stagefrom which they will join the earlier qualifiers in the national level Championship to be played at Sugathadas Stadium in Colombo.

The Provincial matches are to be played at Hanwella, Kandy, Ratnapura, Hingurakkgoda, Wellawaya, Trincomalee, Kuliyapitiya, Galle and Trincomalee.
