Committee on health salary anomalies

COLOMBO: A committee headed by Salaries Commission Chairman Lionel Fernando has been appointed by President Mahinda Rajapaksa with immediate effect to look into salary anomalies in the health service and to make observations and recommendations to rectify them.

The committee also consists of members representing the President, Treasury, Public Administration Ministry and the Health Ministry, the Presidential Secretariat said last night.

An Additional Secretary to the President representing the President, Management Service Department Director General representing the Treasury, Director General of Establishment representing the Secretary to the Public Administration Ministry and Additional Secretary to the Health Ministry representing the Health Ministry Secretary will act as the members of this Committee.

The Committee has been entrusted with the task of identifying salary anomalies and forwarding recommendations and observations to the President within three months.
