UNP PS Chairman suspended

The Gangawata Korale Pradesheeya Sabha Chairman Mahinda Yatawara (UNP) has been suspended from his post with immediate effect by Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake pending investigations into several allegations made against him by a group of UNP Pradesheeya Sabha members.

The suspension will be valid for three months. The Chief Minister has also appointed a special Committee to probe the allegations and submit a report to him.
