Child needs help
M.R.M. Razeem three year's old of No. 66/24 A, Alijinna Mawatha,
Thihariya is suffering from a severe heart disease atrial septal defect
(ASD). Consultant cardiologist Dr. Y.K.M. Lahie has recommended
treatment and surgery. It is estimated to cost Rs. 560,000.
The Child's father says he is unable to foot this bill due to his
family's present financial plight. He request donors and the public to
help his cause by sending whatever financial contributions possible to

Heart patient needs help
K. Sirisena (58) of No. 2/99 Old D. R. O. Road, Kandana is suffering
from an acute heart ailment. Consultant Cardiologist, Colombo National
Hospital has recommended a PTCA and stinting to cure his illness.
The operation is estimated to cost Rs. 275,000. Sirisena says he is
unable to bear this expenditure due his present financial plight.
He requests philanthropists and the public to assist his cause by
sending whatever financial contributions possible to help expedite the
operations.

Aspirations 2008
Aspirations 2008, an education exhibition will bring together
representatives from almost all the popular 'educational destinations'
of the world. The exhibition will be held from July 5-6 at the BMICH and
on July 8 at the Queens Hotel in Kandy, the organisers said.
Representatives from several universities from Australia, UK, USA and
Malaysia will discuss youth's career paths at both venues.
Courses from IT and Business Management to Tourism and Architecture
has captured the imagination of Sri Lankan youth who find that their
progress could be best pursued abroad, the organisers said.

organised a second convocation and 20th anniversary celebration on July

Crash kills one
Rafik Jalaldeen
One person was killed and two others injured when a Canter collided
with a truck in Detagamuwa, Kataragama yesterday.
Police media spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekera said the Canter
collided with the jeep around 1.00 am opposite a quarry in Detagamuwa,
Kataragama killing one and injuring two others. |
