Three dead, three injured in bus-car collision

Three died and three others were injured when a CTB and car collided head-on at the 6th Mile post, Nugawela in Katugastota yesterday morning.

A CTB bus belonging to the Katugastota depot plying from Eldeniya to Katugastota collided with the car bearing number WP KJ-6643, police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekera said.

The car driver and two other persons were killed on the spot and three others who were injured were treated at the Kandy hospital. "The bus was damaged from the front side but the car was very badly damaged," he added.

Katugastota police are investigating.
