hospitality and beauty of Sri Lanka.
“It is not easy to promote other destinations in Germany. Many people
and organisations tried to spread negative information of Sri Lanka in
Germany. But this moment we have seen everything and have experienced so
many things.
“We know the actual situation in the country so we could give maximum
publicity to promote Sri Lanka in Germany and hope that German tourists
will come in Sri Lanka to experience the beauty of this country Murat
Yildir”, a representative of Mura Travel sports said.
He said he experienced everything he wanted in the island and was
ready to promote Sri Lanka as a sport tourism and travelling destination
since the country is full of sports adventures. Commenting on the golf
course, he said Sri Lanka has one of the best golf courses in the region
which has been built without destroying nature.
“I believe that many Germans will come in Sri Lanka to play golf”, he
said.
Director Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau in Germany Channa
Jayasinghe said during the last few years, Sri Lanka was very much in
the centre of attention in western countries with some western media
exaggerating happenings in Sri Lanka.
“The German market is important to Sri Lanka since Germany used to be
the number one tourism generating market to Sri Lanka for years.
“We have started a new public relations project to increase the
number of journalists visiting Sri Lanka.
“The idea is to report the real situation and about eco-tourism,
nature, ayurveda and wellness potential, attractions and products of Sri
Lanka.
“That way we can counterattack the negative publicity which has taken
place,” Jayasinghe said. |
