Thomians enter Under-16 final
S. Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia's Under-16 team entered the final
of the Western Province Under-16 fifteen-a-side rugby tournament by
beating Piliyandala MMV by 36 points (three goals, three tries) to 5
(one try) in the semi-final played at Longden Place on Monday.
They will play against traditional rivals Royal in the final which
will be worked off at the Royal Sports Complex on June 29. The Royal
Under-16 team entered the final by beating Isipatana by 8 points (one
try, one penalty) to 5 (one try) in the other semi-final played at
Longden Place on Monday.
The Thomains led by Shareen Kapuwatte beat St. Joseph's 12-7, Science
College 22-nil and received a walk over from St. Benedict's in the
league tournament before beating Thurstan 32-nil in the quarter-final. |
