SLAF targets LTTE training facility

Air Force fighter jets carried out air strikes on a key LTTE training facility in Kollanwillu, Killinochchi last morning, Air Force Spokesman Wing Commander Andrew Wijesuriya said.

Air Force fighter jets went into action yesterday between 7.15 a.m. and 7.30 a.m. targeting a key LTTE training installation.

"The target was located at the Kollanwillu area 4 km South of Mullankavil in Killinochchi," Wing Commander Wijesuriya said.

The SLAF pilots confirmed that the air raid was successfully carried out causing heavy damage to the LTTE.

"The target was accurate and precise. The air attack was conducted following ground intelligence information and air surveillance," he added.
