Bridge to link A'pura and Trinco districts

A bridge across Yan Oya will be built at a cost of Rs. 20 million linking the Anuradhapura and Trincomalee districts shortly.

On the directions of the President, the foundation stone for the new bridge was laid by Nation Building and Estate Infrastructure Development Minister S.M. Chandrasena on Friday.

The new bridge is being built in response to a request by residents in Horowpothana in Anuradhapura district and Gomarankadawala, Morawewa and Pulmoddai in the Trincomalee district, the Nation Building and Estate Infrastructure Development Ministry said.

The new bridge would enable people in these areas to attend to their daily activities with ease. Farmers in Gomarankadawala and Wahalkada will have easy access to Anuradhapura and Trincomalee.
