Female Attorney to appear in court on May 30

A female Attorney-at-Law, suspect in an alleged forgery case, made a statement to Kandy Fraud Detective Bureau (FDB) recently on the orders of Kandy Magistrate.

According to the FDB, the female Attorney-at-Law is alleged to have prepared a forged deed for a land belonging to an Assistant Secretary of the Central Provincial Council and had transferred the ownership of the land to another person by registering the forged deed in the Land Registry.

The Magistrate also ordered the female Attorney-at-Law, who is on Rs. 10,000 cash and Rs. 1 lakh personal bail, to appear in court on May 30.
