Special Insurance benefits for HSBC Premier customers

HSBC has announced a landmark agreement with Sri Lanka Insurance the country’s pioneer in Insurance to provide customised general Insurance solutions to HSBC Premier customers.

The signing took place between Chief Executive Officer for HSBC Sri Lanka and the Maldives David J H Griffiths and Chief Executive Officer of Sri Lanka Insurance Dr. Nalaka Godahewa recently.

Under the agreement HSBC Premier customers will receive Home Insurance and Motor Insurance solely designed to suit their individual requirements. The new offering will fulfill a speedy and convenient service to customers enabling prompt settlement of claims, competitive premiums, technical expertise and branch network support when necessary.

Chief Executive Officer for HSBC Sri Lanka and the Maldives David J H Griffiths said, “We are pleased to be associated with Sri Lanka’s pioneer insurer, Sri Lanka Insurance, to offer our Premier customers a value added service and the best in insurance products.

We at HSBC strive to provide our customers with a total financial solution within the regulatory framework. A specialist team of insurance staff will be assigned by Sri Lanka Insurance to visit Premier customers at their doorstep in addition to the designated 24 hour customer hotline to facilitate telephony between HSBC Premier customers and Sri Lanka Insurance staff, in the event of an emergency.

CEO of Sri Lanka Insurance Dr. Nalaka Godahewa, said, “Bancassurance is becoming extremely popular in the rest of the world because of the benefits it offers to the customers. Though it is a relatively new concept in Sri Lanka I am sure people will welcome it.

Commercial Bank’s ‘Swipe and Win’

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC recently rewarded its Credit and Debit Card holders with a ‘Swipe and Win’ promotion at which prizes worth over Rs 1.5 million were on offer.

The prizes included 2700 travel bags and cash prizes of Rs. 100,000, Rs.50,000 and Rs.25,000. All card holders who made purchases of over Rs. 5,000 per day with their cards participated in the draw for these prizes.

HNB Customer Centres open for extended hours

In view of the Sinhala and Tamil Avurudu Season selected HNB Customer Centres will be kept open from 9.00 a.m. till 5.00 p.m. till April 10.

This will greatly benefit a large number of customers who will be able to carry out their banking transactions more conveniently at about 58 of the 169 HNB Customer Centres covering key urban and outstation towns.

During the Extended Business Hours customers will be able to receive payments for Moneygrams and other inward remittances, carry out cash and cheque deposits as well as withdrawals and also access certain other Front Office functions/services.

The Customer Centres that will be kept open for extended hours are Head Office Branch, Cinnamon Gardens Nawam Mawatha - Extension Office, Kandy, Gampola, Matale, Nuwara Eliya, Mahiyanganaya, Pettah Extension Office, Wellawatte, Sea Street, Aluthkade, Borella, Kotahena, Piliyandala, Panadura, Nugegoda, Homagama, Kottawa, Horana, Boralesgamuwa, Anuradhapura, Dambulla, Kegalle, Kuliyapitiya, Kurunegala, Nikaweratiya, Nochchiyagama, Polonnaruwa, Thambuttegama, Vavuniya, Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Periyakade Extension Office (Trinco), Kiribathgoda, Kadawatha, Gampaha, Negombo, Aluthgama, Ambalangoda, Ambalantota, Deniyaya, Elpitiya, Galle, Karapitiya Extension Office, Kalutara, Matara, Akuressa Extension Office, Mathugama, Suriyawewa, Tangalle, Tissamaharama, Ratnapura, Ampara, Bandarawela, Kahawatte, Welimada and Pelmadulla.

HSBC sends 5 lucky child savers to Disneyland

HSBC recently launched a special Disneyland promotion for HSBC Children's Savings account holders. This promotion entitled children with an accumulated savings balance to win 5 packages to Disneyland- Hong Kong.

A special fun-filled evening was organised on 5 March 2008, to present the enthusiastic winners with airline tickets at the Twinkles.

Magic shows with a treasure hunt coupled with plenty of food, music and gifts were the order of the day for all 80 children savers who participated.

The selected winners each received two return airline tickets for themselves and an accompanying parent to spend a two nights and three days stay in Hong Kong with two passes to enter into the magical wonder of Disneyland.
