Apollo expands services

Apollo Hospital, Colombo recently opened its centre of excellence for
cardiology, healthcare and nutrition. Minister of Healthcare and
Nutrition opened the Heart Centre, a Ministry spokesman said.
He said that the newly opened Heart Centre will provide up to date
preventive, curative and rehabilitative advice and treatment for a wide
range of cardiac diseases.
Under preventive care, Apollo Heart Centre will carry out educational
programmes on healthy living, dietary education and awareness programmes
covering all communities.
Special heart check packages of cardiac diseases screening for early
detection programmes to screen congenital heart diseases of
schoolchildren will also be available.
In curative healthcare, Apollo Heart Unit have launched a wide range
of procedures and treatments to their patients.
Under the rehabilitative healthcare, the unit has designed and
launched rehabilitative programmes for post surgery patients including
exercises, lifestyle programmes and counselling. Apollo Hospital has
achieved international medical status and facilities within the reach of
every Sri Lankan irrespective of their social or economical status. |
