Eureka in class company with first ISO 20000 in Lanka
Eureka Technology Partners has become the first and only company in
Sri Lanka to receive the coveted ISO 20000 certification from the
British Standards Institute.
Eureka joins a small and highly select group of institutions around
the world that have achieved this feat. Furthermore, Eureka’s
achievement clearly boosts Sri Lanka’s image as an IT off shoring
destination.

Sri Lanka is now one of the few countries in the world to have an ISO
20000 certified service provider.Rigorous and comprehensive, ISO 20000
is the most widely respected global standard for managing IT
infrastructure.
‘Eureka’s achievement is all the more impressive considering that ISO
20000 certification is typically awarded to large organisations like the
World Bank or global service providers like IBM and Accenture.
Developed nations and regions such as Singapore, France, Italy and
the Middle East have only one certified provider each so far. In South
Asia, India has only a handful of certified providers despite having a
large number of IT service providers based there.
“This is a critical step for both Eureka and Sri Lanka, affirming our
progress as a globally competitive IT managed services company and
destination,” says Eureka CEO Dilendra Wimalasekere.
“It will enable Eureka to improve on its already high standards of
service quality and uptime and deliver quantifiable results to our local
and international clients. Personally, I’m proud to work in an
organisation and country that can now deliver world class IT managed
services.”
ISO 20000 is the first worldwide standard specifically defining the
requirements for an organisation to deliver IT managed services. It is
aligned with and is complementary to, the process approach defined
within Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). It also
includes many information security components of ISO 27000. |
