President gives greenlight to DS’ proposals to develop school cricket

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has recommended and given the greenlight to proceed with the proposals made by former Sri Lanka leg spinner D. Somachandra de Silva on the development of school cricket in the country.

Lankan ruggerites fail to impress

The Sri Lanka Sevens rugby team failed to live up to expectations at the Hong Kong International Rugby Sevens losing all three Group matches to Samoa (7-35), England (7-47) and Canada (0-53) before being knocked out in the quarter-finals of the Bowl Championship by Russia (12-35).
