CMC Chief sent on compulsory leave

COLOMBO: Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) Commissioner Dr. Jayantha Liyanage was sent on compulsory leave with immediate effect by Governor Alavi Mowlana yesterday.

The Governor had taken this action in accordance with Section 20.1 of chapter XII of the Establishment Code.

After serving this letter to Dr. Liyanage, the Governor appointed Western Provincial Local Government Commissioner Badrani Jayawardane as CMC Acting Commissioner in addition to her current position.
