Virtusa wins Gold for HRM excellence

Virtusa Corporation one of the largest IT service providers in Sri Lanka, won a gold at the recent Human Resource Management Awards (HRM) 2007, making it the only IT service provider to win in the “Top Ten” category.

The awards, which assess the maturity of HR systems and processes among organisations in Sri Lanka, were a joint effort by the Association of Human Resource Professionals (AHRP) and Hewitt Associates, a global human resource consulting firm. President of AHRP, Niroshan Silva said the HRM award winners have demonstrated that they value their employees and have endeavoued to create a culture that provides a special employee experience.

“As a gold award winner Virtusa exemplifies skills and ingenuity in HR management needed for organisations to succeed in the 21st century,” Silva said. “The Virtusa philosophy in HR is to groom and build globally-competitive future leaders,” emphasised Keith Modder, Virtusa’s Managing Director, Asian Operations.

“Our strong foundation of corporate values, pursuit of excellence, integrity, respect and leadership, along with our informal work environment, are what attracts a broad range of professionals to Virtusa.” Virtusa’s HRM award recognises its innovative HR practices.

A defined career path for each Virtusan, using senior and manager mentors, helps each Virtusan grow his or her career.

An open door policy at every level ensures that each Virtusan learns the latest business consulting methods and is intellectually stimulated through interactions with senior professionals and global clients.
