Teacher arrested in Kandy

A special police squad yesterday arrested a teacher in Kandy who is alleged to have had connections with the LTTE intelligence wing.

This teacher is suspected to have received training from the LTTE. The Police have received information that the suspect had attended the funeral of LTTE Political Wing leader Thamil Selvam who was killed in an air strike.

Police said they had recovered several photographs showing alleged connections with the LTTE. He has been working as a teacher and the Teacher-In-Charge of the school’s Hockey team.
