Best piece of reporting
Sharm de Alwis's piece headlined 'Mea culpa should say Mahela' is the
best piece of reporting that I've seen since that debacle in Sydney. We
in Australia share the same views. Mahela at the beginning of the test
tour went on record saying that Sri Lanka doesn't want to be like the
Indians.
Then on this One day tour he says that they have learnt from the
Indians. These are very contradictory statements, and the biggest foul
of all they have gone to the Aussies to learn how to win matches.
What a folly that is, I may ask here what is the Sri Lankan coach
doing then if our guys have to go to the Aussies to find out ways to win
matches.
What a shame, if he still doesn't know that after almost 20 years of
playing cricket, he should either go and ask Arjuna Ranatunge how he won
the world cup or retire from cricket. He is not fit to be a captain,
without castigating the Indians our cricketers should learn from them.
Our cricket team are like a bunch of ladies.
When playing against Australia they have to get under the Aussies
skin which is what the Indians have done.
They have stood up to them on the field and verbally, no wonder the
Aussies are rattled. Unfortunately the Sri Lankans are too soft, they
are hurt by the spectators and the verbal comments on the field etc.
Poor show, once again they should go to Arjuna Ranatunge and learn a
thing or two if they want to be world beaters.
Arjuna had the hide of an Alligator and didn't care a penny about the
Aussies and their vile comments.
