LTTE's savage acts show its desperation - Minister
The LTTE terrorists who have faced defeat at the hands of the
Security Forces on all fronts have resorted to the savage acts of
creating a fear psychosis in the South by targeting innocent civilians
said Transport Minister Dallas Alahapperuma.
This clearly showed the desperation of the LTTE which has been well
and truly cornered by the Forces. Minister Alahapperuma was addressing
the media after calling on the Most Ven. Tibbotuwawe Sri Siddharta
Sumangala Mahanayake Thera of the Malwatta Chapter at the Malwatta
Viharaya in Kandy yesterday.
Alahapperuma said acts of sabotage committed by the LTTE in the South
could not be prevented 100 per cent unless there was vigilance on the
part of the pubic. At a time when the Security Forces and Police
personnel were performing their national obligation of protecting the
sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country the people should
reciprocate by being vigilant to ensure peace and stability in the
South.
Alahapperuma said he hoped to set up a CTB Depot at Silavatura in
Mannar once that area in the North was liberated soon.
There was a world of differences between LTTE terrorists and the
innocent Tamil civilians in the North and East the Government was always
concerned about the welfare of these innocent Tamil civilians and their
future welfare. |
