Bharatha Natya Arangetram
Bharatha Natyam Arangetram of Oshani Vinodhaya, Years 12 student of
Musaeus College will take place at Elphinstone Theatre on Saturday,
February 23, 2008 at 6.30 p.m.
Oshani Vinodhaya is the student of Mrs. Pradeepa Ariyawansha
Edirsinghe Head of the Divyapradee Rangayathana.
She is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thusitha Wijewardena.
The Arangetram will take place under the distinguished patronage of
former Deputy Inspector General of Police (Higher Training) Gunasena
Thenabadu and Mrs. Thenabadu and the Principal of Museaus College Mrs.
N.K. Pilapitiya.

The Bharatha Natya Arangetram of Selvi Ammritha Raviendran student of
Kalasuri Srimathy Vasugy Jegatheeswaranof Natya Kala Mandis and daughter
of P. Raviendran and Mrs Vasanthy Raviendran will be held at New
Kathiresan Hall Bambalapitiya on February 16 at 6 pm.
The Chief guest will be Kalaimamani Uma Murali Krishna Director of
Subhasheela Academy of Arts Chennai and daughter in law of the
internationally reputed playback singer Srimathy S. Janaki and Mrs
Noreen Welikala Principal of Stafford International School will be the
guest of honour.
Kalaimamani Uma Muralikrishna who will be the chief guest for Selvi
Ammritha Raviendran's Bharatha Natya Arangetram is the Director Academy
of Arts, Chennai and daughter in law of the internationally reputed
playback singer Srimathy S. Janaki. Uma Muralikrishna commenced her
training in Bharatha Natyam from the age of five under Padmashri K. N.
Dandayudhapani Pillai.
Subsequently she was under the guidance of Padmashri Adyas K.
Lakshman. She learnt Kuchipudi from Padma Bhushan Dr Vempath Chinna
Satyam.
In recognition and appreciation of dance performances in India and
cultural centres abroad she was awarded the title of Natya Kala Ratna,
Singarmani, Yuva Kala Bharathi and Kalaimamani for Kuchipudi. |
