COLOMBO: Some politically backed betrayers of the country are
carrying out false propaganda to create panic and tension among people
and block development in the North and the South but the people should
follow the right path, Nation Building and Estate Infrastructure
Development Minister S.M.Chandrasena said.
Addressing the media, Chandrasena said there were rumours recently in
the Anuradhapura district that LTTE cadres were roaming, particularly in
a village Madatugama, Murungahitikanda located in the Kekirawa
Divisional Secretariat.
Chandrasena pointed out that there were no LTTE movements in the area
as security was intensified by police and tri forces.
“This campaign was carried out by some elements for political gain.
The Security Forces and police are marching towards victory against the
LTTE. While the Government is proceeding with its development process,
some betrayers of the country and anti nationalists are making efforts
to block all the development procedures,” he said.
He reiterated that people should be vigilant and aware of the real
situation. “This situation had emerged in the Anuradhapura district soon
after the killing of two Forest field officers in Wasgamuwa recently.
Investigations revealed that two Forest officers were murdered by some
suspects on a personal motive and it had nothing to do with the LTTE. |
