Niroshan joins CR

Havelocks and Sri Lanka Centre Niroshan Karunanayake has joined CR and FC and will turn out for the Longden Place Club in the 2008 rugby season.

Former Wesleyite Karunanayaka had an excellent season for the Park Club and was rewarded by being picked to play for Sri Lanka at the Singer Rugby Asiad held in Colombo last year. He will replace CR centre Avantha Hettiarachchi who has joined Kandy SC.

Niroshan will play alongside Lasintha de Costa as centres for CR with Sri Lanka centre Mohamed Sheriff moving to the last line of defence while the wings will be manned by last year’s Kandy SC player Mohamed Jabbar and Dinesh Kumara.
