Cycle races to mark Independence

The Finance Ministry along with the Sports Development Department will organise a bicycle race and a mini marathon as part of the Deyata Kirula Rata Dinana Heta Dinata development exhibition to mark the 60th Independence Day.

The bicycle races will commence from Galle, Ratnapura, Puttalam and Kandy at 9.00 a.m. on February 03 and end at the Independence Square while the mini marathon will start from Independence Square on the same day.

The first winner will get Rs, 50,000 cash prize while the second place receives Rs. 30,000 cash prize. The National Lotteries Board sponsors the event.

Addressing a press briefing at the BMICH, Justice Minister Dilan Perera said the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation has organised a junior boys and girls volleyball tournament to coincide with the celebration.
