Moratu Vidyalaya beat Sri Piyarathne Vidyalaya, Padukka by innings
and 149 runs in their inter school under twenty division one cricket
tournament match played for the Lemonade Trophy.
In reply to Vidyalians huge total of 556 for 9 declared Sri
Piyarathne were all out for 211 and 196 runs respectively.
The highlight of the match is a superb double century by Vidyalian
Mahesh Kumara who made 251 runs inclusive of 41 fours and one six.
He was associated a sixth wicket partnership of 237 runs with Iroshan
Anuruddha who scored 121 runs with 18 fours and three sixes.
This is the third instance that a Vidyalian made a double century for
his school and the highest score being 267 runs by Lucky Rogers.
Incidentally this could be the highest score in inter school cricket.
