Security Forces advance further in Mannar

Security Forces brought another a three kilometre patch of land along the Uyilankulam- - Adamppan road under their dominance killing five terrorists.

In the second stage troops moving towards the north from their southern Mannar base faced resistance but the troops at the other end of the operation battled it out inducting from the western sector and proceeding towards the eastern Thirukeshwaram, north to Adamppan where nine terrorists were killed.

Auxiliary troops pushing from, Pallekuli launched another attack.

Similarly, columns of Commando troops swung into action and stormed another terrorist hideout north of Pallekuli, Mannar yesterday around 6.18 a.m. and shot at four terrorists.

Those troops later found two T-56 weapons and one T- 81 from the possession of the dead terrorists.

Three soldiers injured during these operations are now under treatment.
