Air Force destroys Tiger leaders’ meeting place

Air Force supersonic fighter jets bombarded an LTTE senior leaders gathering position in Jayapuram, Killinochchi last morning, Air Force spokesman Wing Commander Andrew Wijesooriya said.

An air strike was carried out by Air Force fighters targeting a senior LTTE cadres gathering point in Jayapuram around 9.30 am.

“The target was precise and accurate,” Wijesooriya said. The fighter jets pounded on the target following ground intelligence sources and air surveillance.

“Air Force fighters confirmed the target was destroyed completely,” he added.

The Air Force fighter earlier pounded an LTTE intelligence and a base last morning in Kombavilkulam, north of Puthukudiruppu.

The LTTE suffered severe damages in the air strike, Wijesooriya said.
