Project for generating hi-bred cows

The National Livestock Board and Peradeniya University have made managements to cross-inseminate and produce hi-bred cows to increase milk production.

This is the first time in Sri Lanka, 200 hi-breed siemen packs have been imported from Australia.

The National Livestock Development Board have sorted out 110 siemen packs and inseminated to normal cows, where 21 healthy calves have been produced.
