Ports, Aviation Minister condemns LTTE attack
Ports and Aviation Minister Chamal Rajapaksa yesterday expressed his
deepest sympathies to families of civilians killed in the LTTE claymore
blast targeting a bus at Buttala and families of civilians killed by the
LTTE’s shooting at Okkampitiya.
The Minister in a media release wished speedy recovery to all injured
and hospitalised in the terrorist attack.
The Minister said: “The damage caused by the LTTE to the Tamil
community by engaging in various terrorist activities is great.
“The LTTE which has gone berserk in the face of severe defeat is
further engaging in brutal terrorist activities without understanding
the reality. The LTTE through such terrorist activities intends to
create an unstable situation within the country by tarnishing the
friendship and understanding among Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim
communities.
“Therefore it is everyone’s responsibility to act with patience by
understanding the LTTE’s intention. The need of the hour is to jointly
act to bring peace to the country irrespective of petty differences. If
we can understand this reality, it will not take much time to create an
environment for all communities to live peacefully without facing LTTE
terrorist activities.” |
