Jayantha Dhanapala resigns from post of Senior Advisor

Jayantha Dhanapala who was appointed to the post of Senior Advisor to the President on December 1, 2005 has submitted his resignation for personal reasons, a press release states.

Dhanapala, a former Ambassador of Sri Lanka and a former Secretary General of SCOPP, had served as Senior Advisor in an honourary capacity.

Dhanapala continues to be Chairman of the UN University Council and President of the Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs in addition to serving on many Boards in Sri Lanka and abroad.
