Suranda - a hat-trick in the first over

Suranda Perera of Anura Maha Vidyalaya Yakkala, recorded a hat-trick in the first over of the match against C.W.W. Kannagara Maha Vidyalaya, Colombo in their inter-school under-20 cricket encounter which Anura MV registered an outstanding eight wicket victory.

C.W.W. Kannangara MV was restricted to just 74 runs in their first innings thanks to the brilliant bowling of Suranda Perera and Ranesh Bandara who picked up three wickets each.

Anura MV replied with 268 with L. Ranasinghe and S. Gunawardena scored 77 and 64 respectively.

Kannangara MV came up with a total of 220 in the second innings which set a target of 28 for victory. Amila Sanjeewa had a five wicket haul to make his contribution for Anura MV. They reached the target for the loss of one wicket.
