Bootleg in luxury car

Two suspects transporting illicit brew in a luxury car were nabbed by Mount Lavinia Police Division special operations unit at the Ratmalana Katukurunda junction security checkpoint around 5.30 a.m. yesterday.

The car and 1,125 bottles of illicit brew containing 9,000 drams packed in 25 polythene bags were also taken into custody.

Investigations revealed that the suspects were transporting the bootleg from Ekala Ja-Ela to be delivered to a distributing agent in Moratuwa. The suspects around 21-22 years are from Dankotuwa, Wennappuwa.
