HSBC introduces living business to Moratuwa
The Living Business seminar organised by HSBC for Small and Medium
Scale Enterprises will be held tomorrow (14) from 3.30 pm onwards at the
HSBC Moratuwa Branch, following a very successful programme held in
Kandy in March 2007.
The workshop will be conducted in Sinhala. During this time,
participants will be given the opportunity to interact with three
professionals, gaining insight on the various methods of how to expand
and develop their businesses, while paying attention to corporate social
responsibility. Practical and simple solutions to improve business
functions will be discussed and participants can raise their own queries
to be addressed as well.
The guest speakers who will share their expertise with the audience
are Prof Ajith de Alwis from the University of Moratuwa who will speak
on "Energy Excellence is Business Excellence"; Geehanthi Weerasinghe
from the National Cleaner Production Centre who will talk on 'The Triple
Bottom Line', "The Roadmap to Sustainable Business in a Global Economy"
and Harsha Wickramesinghe, the Chief Executive Officer of the Energy
Conservation Fund will discuss the importance of the conservation of
energy and the necessity to record and document the usage, in order to
improve margins.
The inaugural Living Business seminar held in Colombo and the second
seminar held in Kandy in Sinhala was an absolute success.
A survey done at the inaugural Living Business Seminar revealed that
98 per cent of respondents had found the seminar to be of immense
benefit to them, as they had been made aware of the different approaches
that can be taken to lower costs and increase profits.
Targeted especially for the Small and Medium Scale Enterprises, this
programme has already proven to be very popular in the industry and many
are expected to attend the seminar.
