Search op in A’pura jungles

Nimal WIJESIGHE, Anuradhapura Additional District Group Corr.

A massive search operation in the jungle belt ahead of the Nuwarawewa reservoir and in the populated area surrounding the Anuradhapura Air Force base and Army Camp has been launched.

DIG (NCP) Jayantha Jayasinghe said 1,500 members of the Civil Security Corps have been detailed in the operation now going on.

In the meantime under the supervision of a Assistant Superintendent of Police four groups of police officers are investigating the casual labourers who were employed in the last few months in the Anuradhapura Air Force Base Anuradhapura. The DIG assured that the security situation in Anuradhapura is satisfactory.
