Multichemi bags CNCI Crystal Award

Multichemi International a company that manufactures enzyme for garment washing sector and textile sector has won many awards for the company in the recent past.

The company has won the CNCI Crystal award after winning Gold Award for two consecutive years, its Manager-Marketing Philip N.Mullegama said.

It also won the presidential award for non-traditional products and services in the chemical sector in this year.

He said that they also won the National Chamber of Exporters Gold award in 2006 is the testimony the company is growing tremendously since its inception in 1996. It has the technical collaboration with Novozymes of Denmark, which is the largest enzyme producer in the world.

The company being a 100 per cent local company, a subsidiary Multichemi Group is one of the leading textile enzyme manufactures for the textile and garment sector.

It also exports in bulk and branded form to many countries with a tremendous support from a skilled and dedicated work force in their factory in Biyagama, Mullegama said. Its sister company is in Bangladesh, which is the number one enzyme provider for Bangladesh garment and textile sector, he said.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka's largest herbal cosmetic factory will be opened at Millawa Horana next month. The total investment for this project would be Rs 350 million, which will be borne by Natural Beauty Creations a subsidiary of Multichemi Group.

The company markets its products under the Natures Secret brand to the local market. A small quantity for the export market, its Manager - Marketing said.
