Wickremabahu Central Judo champions

Wickremabahu Central College, Gampola retained the overall title and
emerged boys champions at the All Island Schools Judo Championship- 2007
which was worked off at the Sri Lanka Judo Association Head quarters
recently.
The tournament was conducted by the Sports and Health Education
Department of the Ministry of Education and saw over 650 players taking
part from all parts of the country.
Wickremabahu Central College collected an impressive 38 and half
points to finish first while their home town rivals Jinaraja Boys School
accounted for the second place with a tally of 17 points. Anuruddha
Kumara National School, Nawalapitiya accumulated a total of 16 points to
end up third.
Jinaraja Girls School, Gampola retained the girls overall title for
the eleventh consecutive year when they emerged victorious with a
massive 52 points in the girls tournament.
President’s College, Maharagama became runners up with 15 points
while Walimada Central College finished third.
Wickramabahu Central College were last year’s boys champions with
Wawatanne Vidyalaya, Gampola were placed second while Jinaraja Boys
School, Gampola came third.
Jinaraja College and Wawatanne CC were last year’s girl’s winners and
runners up respectively.
