He needs help

P.A. Sunil Premawansa Perera, a postal employee and a father of two of 23/8, Gallawatta, Ekala is suffering from an acute heart ailment. Consultant Cardiac Surgeon Dr. Prasad Krishnan has recommended an immediate coronary arterial bypass grafting surgery to save his live.

The surgery is estimated to cost Rs. 400,000. He requests philanthropists and the public to assist his cause.

All contributions should be remitted to account number 0-0036-01-1064-7 at the National Savings Bank branch, Ja-ela.

Rahulan felicitated

M. K. Rahulan will be felicitated with the title of the Most Outstanding Sri Lankan Malayalee of the Decade at the Sri Narayanaguru Malayalee Memorial Hall in Colombo 14, on Sunday at 5.00 p.m. at the Sri Warayanaguru Jayanthi Festival.

Minister DEW Gunasekera will be the chief guest.

The guests of honour will be Vasudewa Nanayakkara, Mano Ganeshan, R. Yogarajah, Azath Sally and Indian High Commission Officer Vishnu Namboodiri.

Shilpa 2007 National Handicrafts exhibition

Three provincial handicraft exhibitions will be held at Galle, Anuradhapura and Kandy within the next few days in connection with the Shilpa 2007 National Handicrafts exhibition planned by the Rural Industries and Self-Employment Ministry in association with the National Crafts Council and Provincial Industries Ministries.

The Galle exhibition will be held from October 22 to 24 at the Galle Town hall and the Anuradhapura exhibition from October 23 to 25 at the Anuradhapura sports pavilion. While the Kandy exhibition will be held on October 24 and 25 at the Queen’s Hotel ballroom.

Creations winning first to third prizes and merit certificates at these provincial exhibitions will qualify to vie at the Shilpa 2007 National Handicrafts exhibition to be held at he Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre from November 9 to 12.
