ENT Unit wins National Productivity Award

THE ENT Unit of the Colombo National Hospital has won the National Productivity Award. This is the first time in the history that the Unit won this award, a Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry spokesman said.

He said that the Colombo National Hospital is the largest in the Asian region. The ENT Unit of the hospital offers free health services, especially operations which cost a significant amount of money.

The National Productivity Award has been presented to the Unit after considering the proper way of storing drugs, keeping records of the patients and cleanliness of the Unit.

No patient needs to wait in a queue to receive treatment from this Unit. They can visit the Unit and get treatment and go satisfied without having to waste their time, he said.

The Unit consists of 100 beds and around 80 patients receive in-house treatment regularly. About 300 out patients receive treatment from the Unit daily.

Twenty doctors serve in the Unit which has the latest technology and offers modern treatment for patients.
