Redeveloped VB courts open on Oct. 28

VOLLEYBALL: Two redeveloped volleyball courts will be declared open on October 28 at Hungama Vijayaba Vidyalaya. To mark this event, two volleyball tournaments for clubs men and women will be conducted.

All clubs in the Hambantota district are requested to send in their entries on or before October 10 to office of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Tangalle, Upali Hewage.

The courts will be declared open by Chamal Rajapaksa, Minister for Agriculture, Water Management and Civil Aviation.

The two tournaments are sponsored by National Lotteries Board and Lions Club of Colombo, while the Sports Ministry too is taking a keen interest.

These two courts are redeveloped with a view to promoting the national sport in this District according to Hambantota District Sports Foundation Vice President and Vice President of Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation, Upali Hewage.

The winners and runners up in both categories will be awarded trophies.
