LTTE leader’s hideout bombed

MULLAITIVU: Air Force fighter jets yesterday destroyed a hideout of a senior LTTE leader last morning in Vishwamadu, North of Iranmadu area causing heavy damage to the out-fit, Air Force spokesman Group Captain Ajantha Silva said.

Air Force fighters carried out the air strike using Kfir and Mig jets targeting a senior LTTE cadre’s hideout yesterday around 6.30 a.m. in Vishwamadu.

“The target was picked following precise ground intelligence and air base surveillance,” Silva said.

“The hideout was completely destroyed by Air Force fighter jets,” he added. According to defence sources, an LTTE leader was in the hideout at the time when Fir Force jets pounded their target.
