CBL Foods gets Philippines order

CBL Foods International, a fully owned subsidiary of Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL) joined with Regent Foods one of the major suppliers to the leading supermarkets in Philippines to distribute the Tiara range of portion cakes, family cakes and swiss rolls in Philippines.

Group Export Manager of CBL J. F. Rubera told Daily News Business the value of this order exceeds USD 100,000. They were able to secure regular orders from Philippines.

At the moment the company exports this product range to ten countries including UK to the value of USD 75,000 per month.

The new Philippines market will contribute heavily to the total export earnings under this segment, he said. The company also looking forward to have more joint ventures in South Asia to expand their businesses.

Tiara is manufactured in a fully automated production facility with a “clean room’ environment with latest technology. The production plant was set up as a BOI venture with an investment of Rs. 1.5 billion in 2004.
