Imesh and Rishan - double tons
CRICKET: A brilliant third wicket partnership of 429 runs by
Imesh Udayanga and Rishan Kawinga helped Singhe SC Ambalangoda to reach
the semi-finals of the under-23 cricket tournament when they recorded a
first innings victory over Negombo CC.
Imesh scored 210 runs while in the other end, Rishan bagged 206 to be
a part of their massive partnership.
Negombo CC made 357 in their first innings with Sameera Madurangoda
making 153 not out to build up the Negombo CC innings while Sandun Dias
added 44. Gayan Hirantha and Imesh Udayanga bagged two wickets each for
Singhe SC. In reply, Singhe SC were well ahead of the Negombo boys with
two smashing double centuries by Imesh and Rishan. Imesh’s double ton
included 24 boundaries and four sixes while Rishan’s, 22 fours and four
sixes.
