Minister secures funds for railway

Minister of Enterprise Development and Investment Promotion Dr. Sarath Amunugama representing President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the SAARC Finance Ministers’ Summit in New Delhi held discussions with Indian Finance Minister Shri P. Chidambaran.

Discussion centred on economic co-operation and Dr. Amunugama secured Indian Financial Assistance of US $ 148 million on an urgent basis for the Southern railway development project. Other important economic issues and matters relating to regional co-operation were also discussed, a press release states.
