BoI signs two new agreements
Board of investments (BoI) signed two investment agreements to the
tune of Rs. 145 million yesterday.
Metropolitan advance Technology Company will initiate a new driving
licence printing scheme using state of the art smart card system. The
project would be on a build operate and Transfer (BOT) basis and would
be installed at the Motor Service Department at Werahera.
This company will be investing 70 million US dollars on this project
and they are planning to provide Sri Lanka with new driving licences.
President of the metropolitan company, J. J Amhani, director cum chief
executive officer, Ayvo Maharoof signed the agreement on behalf of the
company.
The second agreement was signed by Skyline Embellisher private
limited to provide screen printer services for indirect export
manufacture. This company will invest Rs. 70 million and would initially
provide 70 employment opportunities.
This would be later increased to around 250. They would also build a
factory in the Kurunagala District.
President of skyline Kalo Thubawila and managing director Nishantha
Kumari signed the agreement. Chairman BoI Dhammika Perera signed these
agreements for BoI. |
