AIS-CIS clash in the under15 cager final

BASKETBALL: Asian International School will take on host Colombo International School in the final of the International Schools under 15 Basketball Tournament 2007 which will be worked off tomorrow (September 18) at the Colombo International School's, courts commencing at 4.30 p.m.

In the consolation final Lyceum International School, Nugegoda will confront Gateway College on the same day. The tournament is being organised by the Colombo International School for the ninth time.

Before reaching the final Colombo International School beat Gateway College by a close 53 points to 51 while Asian International School beat Lyceum International School, Nugegoda by 49 points to 45 in the other semi final.

In the quarter finals Asian International School posted a comfortable win by 40 points to 15 over Colombo South International School, CIS received a walk over from Leighton Park International School, Lyceum International School, Nugegoda beat Wycherly International School by 31 points to 24 and Gateway College received a walk over from Lyceum International School, Wattala.

In the earlier matches CIS trounced Colombo South International School (61 points to 20), Gateway College defeated Lyceum International School, Nugegoda by 33 points 29, Wycherly International School overcame Lyceum International School, Wattala by 27 points to eight.

Under 13 tourney from tomorrow

Meanwhile, the Under 13 cager tourney for girls and boys organised by the Colombo International School will commence on Wednesday at their own courts. Participating teams- Boys: Asian International School, host Colombo International School, Lyceum International School, Wattala, Lyceum International School, Nugegoda, Wycherly International School, Royal Institute, Stafford International School, Alethea International School, Elisabeth Moir International School and Colombo South International School.

Girls: Lyceum International School, Nugegoda, Royal Institute, Asian International School, Wycherly International School, Gateway College and host school Colombo International.
